H. Edward Black and Associates, Ltd. provided overall design services for this two-block stretch of downtown Harrisburg that runs from the Susquehanna River to the State Capitol Complex, resulting in an open boulevard that showcases the beauty of Pennsylvania’s statehouse and its relation to the nearby waterfront.
The project involved the removal of existing traffic lanes, metered parking areas and island-planting beds, and their replacement with broad new traffic and parking areas, greenspace, brick sidewalks, antique-style street lighting and more.
